We often think that if i even voice any dissent from what i think the group wants, they'll immediately ostracise me. Ri: Our brains are wired to be supersensitive to even the slightest possibility of being ostracised from the group. You can still stick to your guns, or you can conform. But at least you know it's not an illusion.
