Is Consciousness Dependent on Language?

In terms of comparing ourselves to so called lower animals, where do you think consciousness emerges? O youtink there's somthing that's like to be a fly say, that's a really hard problem. And again, it's just striking how people in general's views on these things seem have changed over the last recent decades. It seems completely unarguable to me that other mammals,. all other mammals, have conscious experiences of one sort or another. We share so much in the way of the relevant neur anatomy and neuro physiology, exhibit so many of the same behaviors, that it would be remarkable to claim otherwise.
