Justice Is the Virtue of Obedience to the Conventions
Smith's theory of justice is grounded in our sympathy with the resentments of given individuals. We try to impartially judge has something that shouldn't have been done, has a genuine injury occurred? Or is this just an unwarranted accusation of injury? And we have this divided sympathy whereby we feel our way into the position of the alleged perpetrator and ask whether or not what he did was justified.
