The Judiciary's Role in the Constitution
The legacy of marbury versus madison is judicial review. It's fascinating because now fast forward not that long after but certainly today nobody would suggest that any of the other branches of government have the authority to rule a law unconstitutional. The supreme court will take many steps back in marshall's quest to make it a co-equal branch he knows that if he rules in favor of marbury which he desperately wants to do jefferson's going to ignore it.
