Philothea: How he allured you by the divine sweetness of his grace and sacraments. Augustine exclaimed, Oh eternal beauty, how late have I known you,. alas I saw you, but did not pay heed to you. He thought over your soul, thoughts of peace, and meditated meditations of love on your behalf. If this took place in your old age, well then, Philothea, what a grace. After having thus misspent your former years, God then called you before your death - stopping the course of your misery before it became eternal.
