The National Submarine Capacity Is Going Through the Roof, Is It?
The risk of a catastrophic failure of the entire national submarine capability has gone through the roof. The best case scenario is that by 20 35 we ave essentially no functional submarines and no submarine work force. That's a pretty catastrophic scenario. My view is probably somewhere in between. We will be able to keep the coluns going, but as a platform entering its late thirties and into its forties, you're going to have a drop off in availability. So precisely at the time you're trying to increase your submarina force by two or three times, you actually have less capacity to do that.
