The Origins of Probability

The ancient Greeks didn't think mathematics could be applied to dice. The idea of something random just seemed ridiculous, he says. Christianity kicked in as well and they weren't particularly pro sort of analyzing the threat of a dice. But again it was gambling which gave rise to the breakthroughs that they made on probability.
