Spotify's Resistance to the Neoliberal Model
Spotify's thing is that like it's up to the label to take the music down and there have been examples of you know artists being called out for abuse. Spotify holds this narrative that allowing artists to service their music directly to the platform does not make them a record label so then in these situations who's going to be the one to make that call? I don't want to just like hashtag neoliberal again but it is just like oh if it shows up on Spotify then it must be accepted by culture.
