How Do the American Colonies Respond to the Quebec Act?
A decade into this power struggle, parliament hopes these four intentionally punitive, coercive acts will make rebeltg massachusetts and all the other colonies cower. The quebec act of 17 74 sets up governments for the french canadian people, or capaqua, who suddenly found themselves british subjects at the end of the seven years war. In doing so, it allows for the tolerance of their catholic faith and lets them keep much of their french civil law system which doesn't do trial by jury for civil cases.
