"I'm canvassing for the election. The election is three days away," says a writer who was stopped by police in her car. "He wants to know what's in the Walmart bag in the back seat, and why do you have bricks from a vacant lot?" he asks. He probably assumes that I'm planning on breaking windows, political intimidation before the election, cleaning up the city, she tells him.
