Is There a Trust Fund?

i'm a fully insured worker in the us. So security system has promised to send me certain amount of money at certain ages if i retire, or they've promised to sent me a certain amount ofmoney if i am disabled, or they're sending it to my family if i die. The whole idea that there's a trust fund is a fraud, right? There is no trust fund. There's no money. It's just another i o u from the general budget. And so if there's a shortfall from the social security system, what's actually going to happen? If that trust fund is actually depleted. What'sactually going to happen just becomes now the government needs more money.
