The idea of all the West obscures more than it actually reveals. The pandemic showed how utterly different the West is to Asia and Australia. We will put up with two years of rubbish living because we want a high vaccination rate so we can go back to living well. So our idea of freedom is completely different. Even guns, I'm going to give this example. People in Australia were asking to be shut down during the pandemic. There was this communal response. In Denmark and Sweden, two Scandinavian countries, very similar. They responded completely differently to the pand epidemic. Different parts of Germany have responded differently. It's incredibly refreshing to be reminded that if you just walk outside our borders
