The Australian Inflation Story
Headline and core inflation figures were both lower than the recent RBA forecasts. Current inflation presser has continued to soften which is very good news indeed. Annual pace of servicing inflation accelerated to its fastest pace since 2001. However, quarterly pace is slowing and it's not too far above the annual 10 year rate of inflation that we are experiencing leading into the pandemic.
