Success in this stage leads to a sense of purpose, but on the other end, if they feel they experience too much disapproval then they can develop a stronger sense of guilt over trying to assert independence. So what baby and toddler proofing does is it allows your child to explore all the things that they're curious about or most of the things in a safe and appropriate way.
