We've got a pretty sad start to mary's life. She feels slightly like her other siblings are getting a better deal yet all, certainly compared to her male sibling. So yes, she really sort of felt that inequality with her brothers. When they moved a lovely market town in yorkshire called beverly, the children got an oportunity to go to school. And mary was thrilled about this, but then saddened by the fact that her brothers got to go to a really good grammar school and she got to going to a girls school where all she learnet was needlework and piano and a little bit of french.
