Why You Don't Use MAC Filtering for Anything Serious

It is trivial to set whatever BSSID, the Wi-Fi equivalent of a MAC, on your hardware. Most phones now will purposely do that and connect to different Wi-Fi networks with different MAC addresses so that it's harder for you to be tracked. That drove me nuts when Apple first turned that on with iPhones because one of Janis' friends would come over and connect to the Wi-FI.
