The Toxoplasmosis Protozoa
Toxoplasmosis is a protozoa that reproduces in the gut of felines. It's been found to kill endangered monk seals by infecting them with toxo from cat poop. Cats aren't native to Hawaii at all, but like so many visitors to the islands, they had a lot of sex. By 1866 Mark Twain described Honolulu as having companies of cats and " armies of cats"
