The pleasure of being able to inhabit a sexual body shifts into the horror of never being allowed to be anything else. If you are just going to take the idea of sexual freedom and apply that idea to a rigorously patriarchal society, then that freedom will be dominated by the men in that situation. What i had to then do was look at sexual violence. That seemed to me essential, that's the problem of the sexual liberation argument. The total freedom in the chateau of silling, in a hundred and 20 days of sodom, is not an eden but camp. It's a place in which abominations are carried out on other people's bodies.
