The Labor Market Is Very Tight and Growing at a Very Strong Level
The second chart shows the labor market on a growth weight, on a momentum basis. I'm flat at three point one %, which is, you know, basicaly in the 90 plus percent of that time series. The bottom panel on that chart shows a private sector employment costs index as the broadest measure of compensation in the economy. At five point five% year ever a year, through the second quarter, that's the fastest we've ever seen.
