The Importance of Rationality in EA

I didn't used to think that rationality was particularly important to EA efforts. The AI risk, which was the thing that I initially got involved in back in 2007, 2008, was the problem. Why do this like weird convoluted move when you try and cause somebody to have some sort of alleged general purpose thinking skills? Where are people? Like a participatory visual pull. Oh wait, there's a really dumb problem with this... Damn it.
