The Cynics Are Advocates of the Simple Life
Diogenes was known as the barrel philosopher, because he lived in a big barrel. He believed that human institutions and societies create kind of a sort of false values that cause people to live in unnatural ways. The cynics were advocates of the simple life. They thought that they should go about promoting the simple life but making nuisances of themselves living in the way that I'm describing in public.
