Is the Sack a Sack of Memory?
A tattered dress, three handfuls of picans, a braid of roses hair, the mother's hair. The suggestion is that rose handed this down to her daughter ashley at the auction block,. or around that time, before they were separated. One person told me about what had been like to be an adopted parent, and how seeing the sack and reading my book helped him to think about that initial separation of his adopted child from their birth mother. I've had that same thought ino adoptiv parent, and particularly on that anniversary that comes every year. Yet we can a visit that a and our thoughts on that.
