In 2023 we will be watching how companies adapt their practices to comply with these regulations, the aggressiveness of supervisors in issuing fines. The EU and China have been two places where farmers have been effectively banned from planting genetically modified food crops. New gene editing techniques that could allow seed makers to engineer crops with the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions such as droughts or require less than sector sides compared to non-GMO crops. Another trend that puts the hopes of scientific advances on the shoulders of consumers is a trend on lab-grown commodities.
