Intravenous Thrombolysis and Bleeding Risk in Patients on Direct Oral Anticoagulants
This chapter discusses a study on the bleeding risk of thrombotic therapy in patients who had ingested direct oral anticoagulants within the last 48 hours. The study explores whether patients receiving direct oral anticoagulants are at an increased risk for hemorrhagic complications when treated with systemic thrombolysis. The findings suggest that patients exposed to direct oral anticoagulants may actually have a lower risk of intra-cranial hemorrhage.
