Electoral commission fined vote leave campaign 61,000 pounds for breaking electoral law. It referred that law breaking to the metropolitan police which made inquiries but did not decide to pursue it. Ithink the worry is that if there's greater government control over the electral commission, does that mean that the government will start shaping electoral law in a way that suits them? And i think that's really concerning,. at a time in our democracy when a lot of us are looking around and thinking, where are the cheques and balances? You know, to have a cheque like an independent watch dog at the electoral commission, being a neuted inthis wayt is really concerning bot.
