There are entire businesses who only do this. They go to factories and they inspect them. This is what's called a social audit. It's an inspection of a factory to see if it complies with standard for labor rights and labor condition. The Clean Clothes Campaign says many clothing brands will hire one of these specialty companies to do these audits, to check on their factories for them.
