The US's Disinflationary Process

The disinflationary process is very imperfect, and we have to recognize that. The US has gotten lucky in a lot of respects, but one of those key sources of strength for the US is also something that other Western developed economies are experiencing. That should be part of one of the key reasons why the US will weather this economic downturn and likely get out with few scars.
