What Does It Mean to Work at Epic Games?
I'm the only Epic employee living in Cambridge. Pembroke College, appointed me as a visiting scholar for a year. So I'll be able to meet astrophysicists and French linguists over lunch. It's refreshing to work on an implementation of a language from scratch after having worked on this 20, 30-year-old codebase in DHC where you can't just read everything from scratch. There is a team of dozen or so people working on a compiler at this stage to sort of subset averse - which would be the first thing that comes out. The complexity limits our ambition.
