The Origins of Patriarchy

There are no actual origins of patriarchy. It's not as though patriarchy emerged at one point and now we live with it. We have agriculture for a very long time before we see any kind of systematic gendered oppression so the timelines don't match up there they just simply don'tmatch up. There is no necessary reason given the variety of different societies out there many of which we hold women in positions of power and authority why we would have to have a patriarchal system. That theory around agriculture almost positions it in that 19th century sense of saying that modernity somehow was the root into women's oppression well not necessarily so.
