Darshana - The Vision of the Ancient Rishes
The root rish can also means to go. It can also mean to see. So based on that, you can guess hat the meaning of darshana is, literally seeing. We talk about a the vision of the ancient rishes. The rishes had access to a kind of truth that no one else seemed to have access to. And those rishis are the ones from whom all four parts of the vedas come from.
