The Politics of Loyalty
Both of the recent U.S. elections seem to contain an element of ordinary Brits and Americans saying, hey, we don't like what's happening to our country. There is an aspect of this which has to do with where do your loyalties lie. So if a traditional Western nationalist or non-Western nationalist would say, my political loyalties lies with my country, with my nation, I wish others well. If I can, maybe I'll help others get their independence. That sentiment of being loyal to your country as your first political loyalty was stirring again both in the Trump movement and with Brexit. We see it in Milanese, Italy, or Banzangari
