The Accident Airplane Accident
No evidence of pre existing fatigue, corrosion or mechanical damage that could have contributed to the airplane's initial descent. There was no evidence found of any air traffic control problems or issues involving the weather. No reports of anomalies were made into the airplane's maintenance log books. One captain reported that he had experienced auto pilot difficulties in the accident airplane the day before the accident. However, the ntsp believed that these difficulties were likely the result of improper auto pilot proach boat selection.
