CHAPTER

The History of Translation

I think I got interested in this term by reading the texts like parts of the polycanine that are about dependent origination and just seeing some footnotes that are like no one knows how to translate this term. That's a really interesting thing to me because in other places it's kind of said well this term just means mental proliferation so I gotinterested in the history of this translation right which is basically to say when did this idea that mental proliferation is a good rendering of this term occur? And even though each of these things has a history, not that the word means something and that meaning is fixed but in fact you know the same word has been read by different people for 2500 years now
