Onboarding in Remote Is a Good Thing

The Shopify onboarding that I did in the program that we still run is excellent, and I've written about this and spoken about it before. And effectively, when people join the company, it's a four-week period of onboarding. That removes the stress of thinking that on day one, you're going to join the company and then we're going to give you a hazing with a high priority bug. Instead, we realize that onboarding somebody well, you only get one chance, and that chance is when they join.
