Researchers used surveys to collect data from 1,445 students in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. High-media multitaskers are those who see themselves frequently switching between apps and devices; low-media multitasking people resist the urge to multitask. By having the participants play a game and have two types of banners pop up, Don wanted to see if attention and distractibility depended on what kind of information was being displayed.
