The Federal Government's 19 Billion Plus Surplus for 2022-23
Dennis says the federal government looks to have a 19 billion plus surplus for 2022-23. Commentators say the dilemma for the government is how to use it. Why can't the surplus be used in part to reduce the near 900 million government gross debt? Well, Dennis, that is in fact what Jim Chalmers is doing. He's announced that not only have they got a 19 billion surplus, that 87% of it is as he puts it going to be banked.
