The Benefits of Bempedoic Acid for Cardiovascular Disease
The authors concluded among statin intolerant patients treatment with Bempedoic acid was associated with a lower risk of major adverse cardiovascular events. It doesn't necessarily have the associated muscle, possibly diabetes or hyperglycemia effects that we've seen with statins but it has its own side effects so it lists tendon rupture, gout, reduced to GFR,. Those aren't seen with statons. Compared as this leaves us in practice, well I think it basically just means nothing's changed.
