In 1950, the American Political Scientist Association said that there was not a big enough partisan divide between republics and democrats. And they said this was really bad for the country. There's no way anybody now would possibly say there's not a bigenough divide. But here's what they were saying: It was hard for people to know who to vote for if you wanted conservatives or liberals in power.
