The Importance of the Name of Adonai
In Jewish tradition, the writing of the name of God is a sacred thing. The word was considered one of the main vehicles for agency. To speak the name to write the name was to materialize it and in a sense was to invoke that presence. And so if you're reading your Bible to facilitate God's presence, you're doing the exact same thing with your Bible that they did, recently with divine images.
