The Left Liberalism of the 1960s
By the late 30s, you have something that looks like a fairly libertarian political opposition to the New Deal. But it's really the Cold War that takes that those seed crops and turns it into the conservatism we understand. And so I definitely think that as the conservatism we see today is much more a reaction to the 1960s than it is to the 19 progressivism.
