Is RCM a Good Maintenance Strategy?
The formal application of RCM is focused on high criticality things, like airplanes and manufacturing. The other thing goes back to the who've moved my cheese: We're so busy doing our maintenance the same way this all the time that we're not really thinking of other ways. And the third part, I think, is people here, RCM, they look at RCM and they say,My God, that's too complicated. There's no way I can do that. So I think those are some of the reasons.
