The Intimate Story of Grace Paley

It's interesting for this narrator to be witnessing these things and coming up with her own explanations for them. It just has this intimacy about it, which makes you feel like you're reading confessional auto-fiction or whatever you want to call it. And I think that's part of what I felt rereading it was being reminded of how things that we thought were unbearable became bearable very quickly too.
