I didn't know this was bad because in my mind, no one told me it was bad yet. Once I was introduced to the concept of it being bad, it was like, Oh, so now you start to hide this. It's very difficult getting to the place where I was okay with my queerness. And then once I eventually got to that place, again, I'm fast forwarding through a thousand things that led to that. Then it became much more difficult. The people who are okay with myQueerness and everyone else were not OK with mine. So they had to hold on to parts that I wanted to hold onto as well.
