The Roman Invasion of Britain

The Romans were in Gaul, then they got out some transport ships, then they were in Britain. The only really good account we have of the invasion comes from Cassius Dio who was writing 150 years after the fact. A second battle was fought alongside that river, with the Romans again winning. 11 other local kings decided further resistance was suicidal and surrendered en masse to Claudius.
