The Story of the Halifax Disaster
Two thousand people were killed and another ten thousand injured. 16 hundred houses, levelled, as well as 12 thousand houses and buildings damaged. It's like a hurricane level humanitarian crisis. And to make matters worse, it happened on december sixth, so it was also super duper cold. Even though halifax is south of seattle, even in south of seATTLE, it is on the north atlantic, and so super cold and snowy.
