The Importance of Creativity

I started singing when I was about 10. My mum's a social worker, my dad was a journalist. We were constantly exposed by her to soul music and musical theatre. It was like a really lovely hobby that was never really going to be taken seriously. But it wasn't discouraged. The creativity was kind of, it just wasn't a realistic option. So it was becoming more embedded in club culture that kind of opened that door for you. You see how dance dominates the charts? There's always been vocals on dance music,. but like, I really feel like Katie kind of brought it back into like mainstream with her, her album, with Magnetic Map, all of that.
