The Relationship Between Shadows and Substance in Redemptive History
Shadows, types, patterns. These are the things that my definition's trying to encapsulate there. And therefore, something that God has designed those things for will be the fulfillment later in redemptive history. A reader is then wanting to be attentive to how earlier figures and shadows are eclipsed by the greater work of new covenant realities. So we can even say we could substitute shadows and substance also, right? I think it's absolutely right.
