The Green Party in Taiwan - The Catching Missile
The Taiwan Green Party was established in late January of 1996. The party's founder, Gao Chanyen, went on a fishing boat into the Chinese missile test zone as a protest against these military threats against Taiwan. This gained the party really critical media attention and helped boost their campaign. It also allowed the party to engage with the big issue in Taiwan, relations with China.
