How Quickly Should Origin Be Canonized?
Mike Wilkin: I love origin. He's such an important witness, even though he was something of a problematic figure. Sometimes it seems disobedient to his bishop,. sometimes going his own way, rather than the way indicated by the church. Basically he fell into error in his speculative theology. But we should give him some leeway because he was doing this as the first speculative theologian in the church's history. So he was experimenting and if his experiments failed, well that's because that's the way science works. If I am ever found to be at odds with the teaching of the church, follow the Catholic church.
