The author spent some time with a shaman in the mountains of napal, southeast asia. The shaman is called sonom and he was an entirely different kind of magician to those we now tend to call shamans. In indonysia they are known as ducons or zancres - traditional magicians. Sonom sounds like a very powerful, yet traditional magician you call sonom.
